Nazif and his wife Senada are Roma and live in poor conditions in the outskirts of Sarajevo. While Nazif attempts to earn money by selling scrap metal gained from wrecked cars, his wife looks after the household and their two daughters. When one day she develops severe abdominal pain and finds out at the hospital that her unborn child is dead, good advice turns out to be expensive: Senada might become septic and the family cannot afford the urgently needed operation. Since she lacks insurance the hospital refuses treatment. A fight against time, death and hopelessness ensues…
